Reflection
In the last couple of weeks I started the community service in Al
Ain. I choose AL Ain because I live in Al Ain, and I can not be arsed to
volunteer in Abu Dhabi due to the distance. I volunteered through out
organization that was inspired by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed. It’s called TAKATOF
and it has branches around Abu Dhabi city, one branch is located in Al Ain
where I decided to volunteer. I volunteered 5 times in Breast Cancer Event, Al
Ain Disable sport Club, Blood donation, Collecting cloths and Winter
Distributing Jackets. TAKATOF has a lot of volunteering types, and it always
comes depending in the time of the year, that’s why I volunteered in 5
different Events unlike my teammates who volunteered in Abu Dhabi.
I had a lot of fun and interesting moments when I volunteered in Al
Ain city. The best moment so far was in AL Ain Disable Sport Club, when we
volunteered to play and entertain the disabled children there. We played
football and them and then we played some small games at the club. The best
moment is me experiencing what I call real volunteering, like for example
interacting with the disabled children and learn about how they are disabled. And
then getting to know them more. I can describe the experience that I had there,
but I am so satisfied by volunteering there. The sad moment happened in the
same day where the the children didn’t like the idea of us leaving after the
games and I felt sad for them.
Everyday I say that my time in volunteering was worth the try. I
learned and experienced many new stuffs, and more importantly I supported and
improved my community with the donations, poverty, disables and cancer events.
I learned that God gives and takes, if you think that X man have a better life
than you, then look at the Y man who doesn’t even have a leg or cant walk extr
and extra. I also learned how to get along with new people, since I spent all
my life with relatives and neighbors.
To any student who read this, thank you for reading and I advise
you to give the course a try. This course will help me overcome difficulties in
life and also engineering wise.
